What are you EXPECTING?

Are you expecting gloom and doom or are you expecting ‘the BEST’ possible outcome?

My friend Cindy recently posted this in Facebook and it brought back a memory to me.

I had previously blogged, ‘You get what you EXPECT, not what you WANT.’

Some years ago we were visiting in Saskatoon (the distance of 3 provinces from our home) and we had taken my aunt out to lunch. As we walked back to the car my eyes caught my rear license plate and the date it expired.  You have to know those stickers are teeny tiny and I noticed this from a far off distance.  Our car insurance was running out the very next day, far away from home and in a completely different provincial system for obtaining insurance.

We immediately phoned back to our insurance broker to find out what to do.  As it turned out we had leased our car (we always leased as the best home based business option) and the insurance broker was then able to get our car dealership’s signature on a renewal and fax it back to us.  We had the papers in case we were stopped on the return trip.  And YES, we were stopped and we were so grateful to have the papers to show.

So what if:

  • I hadn’t noticed the teeny tiny expiry date sticker
  • It had been a weekend with our insurance broker’s office closed
  • We had not leased the car so that no signature could be obtained on the proper form

So many different outcomes were possible.  However, I am one who believes in ‘God moments’, divine intervention, and inspiration.

That was just one of many I’ve experienced.   What follows those moments?  Gratitude of course!

So fine tune your ear, listen for the nudges, that still-small-voice and then Give Thanks.

Expecting the Best is such a wonderful way to experience life.

Till next time,
